Is Steph Curry’s London Trip A Sign He’s Done With USA Basketball For Good?

Team USA concluded their London showcase journey with a thrilling win against Germany. All the proceedings before the coveted Paris Olympics have now been done. All that remains for the US fleet is to march to the French capital and reclaim their gold honors. But there are still a few days to kick into competing mode for the All-Stars and for the two-time MVP to regain Kerr’s trust. And Stephen Curry is using the break wisely.

Still in London, the Golden State Warriors ace decided to explore the rich history of the city. With a camera documenting his adventures, Curry visited some of the popular landmarks in London. The Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, and the tall Big Ben were all a part of Steph Curry’s London expedition.

Unlike his times in the US, Curry was enabled to be a simple tourist enjoying the diverse pleasures London had to offer without being swarmed by thousands of people. It’s an experience the three-point specialist thoroughly enjoyed. “Being a tourist is fun. Being able to see different cultures, the history of this beautiful city,” he admitted in a video posted on X.

These are the last few days to relish for not just Stephen Curry, but the entire Team USA. A few days from today their pivotal Olympic journey will begin. For Curry, it’s his first experience at the big stage. He has only represented the USA at two FIBA World Cups but never had an opportunity to grace the Olympics.

Having previously admitted it was the right time, Curry feels Team USA is yet to show their best going into Paris.

The best of Team USA is yet to show as per Steph Curry

Team USA is cramming with the best crop of the NBA. They have future stars, living legends and a shared passion to bring a fifth consecutive gold medal back. Being unbeaten in their showcase games was a positive start. However, after the thin win against Germany, Curry admitted that Team USA is only scratching the surface of their best.

“We haven’t played our best offensive game yet. When we lock in defensively and rebound, nobody can really beat us. That’s how we’ve been coming back these last two games. Execute the details, just playing solid, hard-nosed basketball. We’ll be fine”, he said after beating Germany,

When speaking of Steph Curry alone, his prominent game was against Serbia. The transcendent shooter sank 24 points to beat Jokic and Co. However, in the remaining games, Curry hasn’t stayed consistent. He averaged 12.4 points through five games, but it was far from his capabilities. Curry is aware that if their strategies aren’t executed well. Team USA is “beatable”.

Then again, it’s tough to imagine all of the acclaimed superstars having a bad day. At this point, that’s the only way to beat Team USA, to shut down every weapon. Do you think that’s possible?
