Alexis Ohanian revealed some unfortunate personal health news in an interview recently.
Ohanian, the husband of tennis legend Serena Williams, revealed last week that he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease after he had a full body scan. He currently has no symptoms but is going to treat it.
“Doing a full battery of health scans, tests, etc, and found out I have Lyme disease. Wild. No symptoms, thankfully, but gonna treat. Good cholesterol is too low. Bad cholesterol is just OK. Gotta work on that. On the plus-side: 822 ng/dL total + 162 ng/dL free testosterone,” Ohanian tweeted.
He told FOX News that he was surprised by the diagnosis since he doesn’t go into the “wilderness” that much.
“I’ve got a loved one who had it a few years back, showed tons of symptoms, etc and just couldn’t figure it out until they tested him for it and then found it. I spend so little time in the wilderness/northeast this was quite a surprise,” Ohanian said.
Here’s to a speedy recovery for Ohanian as he battles this disease.
He and Williams share two children, daughters Olympia and Adira.
