‘I know I can beat him’ – Andy Ruiz Jr makes new fight plea to Tyson Fury as he names heavyweight hit-list
Andy Ruiz Jr wants to face Tyson Fury on his quest to become a two-time heavyweight world champion.
Ruiz is set to return for the first time in two years when he takes on Jarrell Miller on the undercard of pound-for-pound star Terence Crawford this weekend.

The Mexican previously called out British star Fury, with the pair even having discussed a fight during a chance meeting in 2021.
And he has made a fresh plea, naming Fury on his planned hit-list which also includes recent undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk.
He told Fight Hub TV: “There’s a few I want to fight, anybody that is over 200lbs and can punch is always dangerous.

“But I feel like Oleksandr Usyk he is one of them, Zhilei Zhang he is one of them and he has a different style that I could face.
“I want to face Tyson Fury, I always thought that I could beat him and always wanted the opportunity to fight him.

“I think those three guys are the most dangerous right now and ones I’d love to fight.”
He then added on Fury: “I know that he has been through an awful lot of battles and all of that.

“But I know that I could damn well do my best and that I could beat him.”
Ruiz was tipped to go right to the very top following his incredible win over AJ, but he came back out of shape and lost in an immediate rematch.
It is just two wins for ‘The Destroyer’ since over Chris Arreola and Luis Ortiz most recently in 2022 which have seen him out of contention.

The likes of Usyk and Zhang have become key figures in the resurgence of the heavyweight division, with some mega fights regularly landing in Saudi Arabia.
Ruiz and Fury came close to meeting last year, but the Mexican was ruled out of the running due to his apparent financial demands.
But now the financial backing of Saudi Arabia can make these fights happen at the blink of an eye.

Before he takes any step towards the big fights, the 34-year-old wants to get revenge over Joseph Parker in a rematch next.

He said: “For me next it’s Jarrell Miller; god willing we get that win and hopefully I’d love to run it back with Joseph Parker.
“The main thing is just getting the victory, getting back in action and getting ready to fight those big boys.
“Me personally I would like to have two fights, against people that are in the top ten or top fifteen.
“I’ll fight against anyone else after this fight. I just want to fight the top guys man.
