Lewis Hamilton makes an appearance in the Sergio Perez documentary
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton makes an appearance in Red Bull’s Sergio Perez’s documentary “Checo Pérez: ¡No te rindas, cabrón!.” The Mexican driver is one of the most popular drivers on the grid and has a huge following in his native country and in Latin America.
Since joining the Austrian team, the 34-year-old’s popularity has doubled and been beneficial for the Milton-Keynes outfit as well. Perez has also been influential by bringing in money from his sponsors including Carlos Salim, TelMex and Claro and boosting sales of Red Bull’s sports drink cans in Latin America. His documentary was released on Disney+ on July 31 and focuses on the life of the Red Bull driver. Lewis Hamilton too features in the series and can be seen complimenting his rival by saying:
“He’s always really positive, he’s a light-hearted dude.”

Hamilton and Perez have shared a relationship of mutual respect as the seven-time world champion was one of the few drivers to stand up and support the latter from Red Bull’s pressures in late 2023. He then told Fox Sports:
“I think that his team is not helping him at all. I know that Red Bull is made up of many members, but there are people who affect him psychologically and do not support him. If I heard such negative things about myself every weekend, it would be very difficult. So he is in a very complicated environment for him, but I think he knows how to deal with it.

“I haven’t experienced exactly something like what Sergio is going through, but as a driver, I understand the psychological and mental pressures. It is something very heavy that falls on you, and it is very difficult to explain it in words,” he added.
F1 pundit gives his take on Sergio Perez’s 2024 season
Sky Sports’ F1 pundit Craig Slater stated that he isn’t entirely convinced that Sergio Perez is safe for the rest of the 2024 season despite getting retained by Red Bull. He said:
“I don’t think it’s an absolute given he does complete the season. I think Christian Horner would like him to. I don’t necessarily think it’s out of the question that, if things don’t pick up in these races after the resumption, the talk will swirl around again if the title is in the balance.”
Perez has scored the least amount of points of all the drivers in the ‘Top 4′ teams ever since the Imola GP. His struggles on the track have enabled McLaren to close up tgap to Red Bull in the Constructors’ Championship to 42 points after being over 100 points behind after Miami.
