Paris 2024 Games: Svitolina delivers comeback against Pegula

 

 

Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina reached the third round of the Olympic tennis tournament in Paris.

 

In the round of 32, Svitolina sealed a strong-willed victory over fifth-seeded Jessica Pegula (USA) – 4:6, 6:1, 6:3, Ukrinform reports.

 

Svitolina will compete for quarterfinals with the reigning Wimbledon champion, Czechia’s Barbora Krejcikova, world’s 10th strongest female tennis player.

It should be recalled that at the previous Olympics in Tokyo, Svitolina took bronze.

 

The Paris 2024 Games will last through August 11.
