Macci, former coach of the Williams sisters, has shown a soft corner for his pupils. In an exclusive with EssentiallySports, he talked about how lucky Richard Williams and Oracene Price were to have these girls in their lives. “Listen, people have to understand, Richard and Oracene, they hit the genetic jackpot with these two girls. If you notice, their body types were very different. Venus was like an Olympic sprinter, no pun intended, with a racquet in her hand, and Serena was almost, like, built very differently, but they were both big strong fast quick.”
Macci pointed out that Serena and Venus not only invested tons of hard work into their professional lives but also inherited their athletic genes from their parents. He further said that he just helped the sisters find the right tune.

“We know everything is from one ear to another it’s a game of inches mentally so strong and that was kind of baked in double crispy when I got involved at age nine and ten which everybody saw in the movie King Richard. So I just had to put Humpty Dumpty together. I just had to put the technical in the environment and give them the opportunity. They were bulletproof and they changed the game,” Macci said.
