Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian pays over $7,000 to fund college athletes’ stay at Paris Olympics 2024

American entrepreneur and former WTA No.1 Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian recently contributed a handsome amount of money to support a college athlete’s stay at the Paris Olympics 2024.

Veronica Fraley, a North Carolina native, is a professional discus thrower and has competed in various global tournaments such as the 2022 and 2023 World Championships, and the USATF U20 Championships. She recently revealed X (formerly Twitter) about her school not paying her the substantial level of rent money that it does to other football athletes. Owing to this she is facing immense trouble in paying off her rent at the Paris Olympics, an event that she qualified for last month after finishing third at the US Trials.

She wrote:

“I compete in the Olympic Games TOMORROW and can’t even pay my rent, my school only about 75% of my rent while they pay footballers (who haven’t won anything) enough to buy new cars and houses”

As the tweet came to the notice of Ohanian, he was quick to react and asked Fraley to share her $cashtag.

“Got you! DM me your $cashtag”

He took to his Twitter handle to share major updates regarding his Lyme disease in which he elaborated that he has gone through proper health scans and is now taking the required medication. He stated:

“Doing a full battery of health scans, tests, etc, and found out I have Lyme disease. Wild. No symptoms, thankfully, but gonna treat. Good Cholesterol is just too low. Bad Cholesterol is just. Gotta work on that”
