Popular rapper Drake revealed that his 2016 hit ‘Too Good’, which also featured pop sensation, Rihanna, was written for Serena Williams. This has left fans of the tennis legend irate who have lashed out at the rapper. There have been rumors that Drake and Williams dated for a brief period, however, their relationship was never confirmed.
In a newly released footage, Drake can be seen revealing that the song ‘Too Good’ is about him and Serena to his mother Sandi Graham. The song ‘Too Good’ talks about a person whose love was taken for granted and how they are too good for their partner.

Fans were enraged at this reveal and took to X (formerly Twitter) to react to it. One of the fans mentioned how Williams was dancing to Kendrick Lamar’s hit ‘Not Like Us’, a diss at the ‘Too Good’ rapper, at the EPSYs, and said that she didn’t even like Drake.
“IJBOL, he’s such a clown because Serena don’t even like you. She was just crip walking to Not Like Us on the EPSYs stage 😂”

“Serena Williams don’t even know who he is mind you,” a fan said.

“serena and rihanna are both on their second children and this man is still talking about them… he’s an actual nightmare,” a fan opined.
Here are some other reactions from Williams’ angry fans.
“Writing a song saying you’re too good for Serena fu**ing Williams and publicly admitting it is a level of hubris only seen in a Greek tragedy,” a fan quipped.
“Ok & she’s happily married now so,” a fan mentioned.
“writing a song that says “I’m way too good to you “ about THE Serena Williams… the lack of self awareness is astounding,” a fan felt.

In his 2022 song ‘Middle of the Ocean’, Drake seemingly targeted Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian calling him a groupie, a person who incessantly follows a celebrity in the hope of pursuing a romantic relationship with them.
“Sidebar, Serena, your husband a groupie/ He claim we don’t got a problem but/ No, boo, it is like you comin’ for sushi/ We might pop up on ’em at will like Suzuki,” Drake wrote.
However, Kendrick Lamar, who much like Williams grew up in Compton, stated in his recently released hit ‘Not Like Us’ that Drake better not talk about the American tennis icon.
“From Alondra down to Central, n**ga better not speak on Serena,” Kendrick Lemar said in his rap.
Williams began dating the Reddit co-founder in 2015 and the couple later got married in 2017. They also have two daughters, Olympia and Adira River.
