Serena Williams, the tennis legend and fashion icon, has once again made waves-this time in the beauty industry.

On Monday, September 2, the 42-year-old athlete took to Instagram to unveil a new product from her Wyn Beauty line, and she did so in a style that paid homage to her past.

Serena Williams’ new look at the US Open shocks fans

Serena Williams goes down memory lane

In a series of photos, Williams was seen wearing a chic denim ensemble, reminiscent of a look she sported 20 years ago at the 2004 U.S. Open during Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day.

The modern twist on her nostalgic outfit featured a cropped short-sleeve denim jacket layered over a white shirt, paired with a pleated mini skirt.

The throwback photo from 2004, which served as the inspiration for this look, was even displayed in the background of her post, where a younger Serena stood alongside her sister, Venus Williams.

“This skirt looks familiar-oh that’s me in the background. Yup, that was my inspiration for this look to launch @wyn new lipgloss and lip liner with @ultabeauty #USOpen,”Williams captioned her post.

The launch of the new Wyn Beauty products coincided with Williams’ return to the US Open, marking her first appearance at the event since retiring from professional tennis in September 2022.

While Williams was no longer competing on the court, she remained at the center of attention, attending the tournament in style and promoting her brand.

Over the course of the event, she wore a variety of makeup products from Wyn Beauty, including a $29 skin tint and $25 concealer, totaling $192 in value.

Williams also made the most of her presence at the tournament by engaging with influencers, further amplifying her brand’s visibility.

For instance, an Instagram reel featuring Williams and creator Hailey Sani applying Wyn Beauty lip products quickly went viral, garnering over 695,000 views in just two days.

As part of her promotional efforts, Williams donned a neon-yellow Gucci outfit that perfectly complemented the tennis-inspired hues of her beauty products.

Her ensemble included a $2,100 monogram dress, $1,150 sneakers, and a $920 pouch, showcasing her flair for high fashion.

Williams’ dedication to her brand extends beyond the spotlight.

In July, she shared a heartwarming moment with her 6-year-old daughter, Olympia, who was seen applying lip gloss from Wyn Beauty while they watched the 2024 Paris Olympics together.

The brand later reshared the video, playfully asking for Olympia’s approval of the new formula.

In an earlier interview, Williams spoke about the inspiration behind Wyn Beauty, emphasizing her desire to create products that cater to active lifestyles.

The packaging, inspired by the vibrant green of a tennis ball, reflects Williams’ lifelong connection to the sport.
