The 2024 Solheim Cup is around the corner. The tournament will be held from Thursday, September 12 to Sunday, September 15 at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia.
Recently, the official Solheim Cup U.S. Team handle posted a video on X. In the video, USA teammates talked about who the players would bar from controlling the aux cord. Nelly Korda and many others named Lexi Thompson. Thompson has a more niche music taste than the other players.World No. 1 Korda said (via SolheimCupUSA):
“I would not let Lexi have the aux because she listens to like (0:17) hardcore like rock and metal. That is not my cup of tea.”
World No. 45 Allison Lee, who will be playing in his second Solheim Cup, said:
“Not have the aux, probably Lexi. I heard she likes like hardcore metal and I don’t know if that’s my vibe.”
Rose Zhang concurred with Korda and Lee and said:
“Hearing what Nellie said about hard rock, I don’t think I’d let Lexi on the aux.”

Allisen Corpuz initially nominated herself as she believes her taste in music is not the same as everyone else; but changed her answer to Lexi Thompson after she was told that the 11-time LPGA Tour winner listens to Hard Rock.However, Lexi Thompson remained unfazed about people having different music tastes than hers. She said:
“I’ve heard people trashing my taste in music a little bit, that it might be a little too intense. Not have it, probably Sarah. I know she’s a big, I like Taylor Swift too, but I think they’re hardcore fans, so.”
While some differed from the consensus. Lauren Coughlin said that she wouldn’t let her have the aux, while Sarah Schmelzel said that she wouldn’t give Ally Ewing the aux, and Lilia Vu said that she wouldn’t allow herself to take aux as they both would only play Taylor Swift.
