For American tennis fans, after the conclusion of the US Open, and before tuning in to the Davis Cup, there is one major stop. The US elections, to choose their representative for the next four years. Everyone is listening to the presidential debate between the two candidates: Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, and thinking about their options. Taylor Swift has already made her choice on whom to vote. And she is not the only one to stand for the candidate she believes in, Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend, Morgan Riddle and Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian seem to support her choice. Whom are they supporting during the 2024 presidential run?

It’s uncommon for people to announce their voting preferences. However, an AI mishap has led to Swift “endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run”. In an Instagram post, dated September 11, the multiple Grammy-winning singer opened up about her reasons for supporting Kamala Harris with her running mate, Tim Walz. Her reasons for supporting Harris are as follows:
“She fights for the rights and causes, I believe, need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”– stated Swift in a lengthy post.

Her reasons found the support of over 7.6Mn people(at the time of writing) in just a few hours. These millions also contained the names of Williams’ husband, Ohanian, and Fritz GF, Riddle, who ‘liked’ her post. While it definitely shows their support for the decorated singer, but does it also for her choice of presidential candidate? Although they are yet to declare their political affiliation during the upcoming elections, this small action has certainly gained some traction in the tennis circuit!

Not just them, the American tennis player Christopher Eubanks and the Australian ex tennis player, Rennae Stubbs, have also liked the post. While it does not mean anything immediately, it does show their support for Swift, who further mentioned about her ‘research’ that went behind the choice.
To come clean and have no influence in elections, Taylor ended her note writing, “I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make.” Taylor also emphasized the importance of voter registration, especially for first-time voters. She advised that early voting is often more convenient and encouraged readers to visit her story for information on registration and early voting dates.

Ohanian has been quite open in expressing in views about major issues. And US presidential elections are no small feat. Hence, after the conclusion of the debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, the proud father of two took to X to express his views. Ohanian said,
“Gonna hug my dogs extra tonight. No one’s gonna eat you guys.” This was in response to Trump’s claim that illegal immigrants targeted families and kidnapped their pets before devouring them. Andy Roddick and Martina Navratilova re-tweeted Ohanian’s tweet.
Meanwhile, Roddick took a sarcastic dig at the former president, Trump, for his refusal to accept the 2020 election defeat. Roddick tweeted, “Wimbledon finals 2009 would have never happened if I was there ……. Never woulda happened.” Moreover, former tennis star Pam Shriver came out in support of Kamala Harris with a tennis analogy. She said, “6-2 6-1 @KamalaHarris game set Match. 👏👏👏👏👏”

Moreover, Chris Eubanks weighed his thoughts with several tweets, including a hilarious dig at Trump’s claim about illegal immigrants and pets. He said, “‘THEY’RE EATING THE DOGGGGSSSSS” took me out 😂😂💀💀💀’”
