Serena Williams’ ex-coach Rennae Stubbs wished that the Milwaukee Brewers would win the World Series with Pat Murphy, after their heartbreaking defeat in the Wild Card series against the New York Mets. Murphy praised the Mets for turning their deficit around in the ninth inning to secure a position in the Division series.

The MLB post-season is underway as the Brewers, seeded third, took on the sixth-seeded New York Mets in the National League Wild Card best-of-three series. The Mets took the first game, 8-4, but the Brewers answered back in Game 2, with 5-3 to take the series into a decider. The Brewers took a 2-0 lead in the seventh inning with Jake Bauers and Sal Frelick and it looked to be going well for them until the ninth inning. The Mets turned the deficit around with a Pete Alonso homerun which helped them get three runs. However, that was not all as Starling Marte would put the final nail in the coffin with another run.

The Mets turned the match around to win 4-2 and set up a Division Series clash with second-seed Philadelphia Phillies. After the match, Milwaukee Brewers’ coach Pat Murphy hailed the Mets for managing their nerves and turning the series around.

“Yeah I mean it’s baseball. You get three players that are operational players. Lindor, Nimmo, and Alonso and you know, they did what they do. I wanna give credit to the Mets, that’s what that inning was about is, that inning was about the Mets. They were great.”

Serena Williams’ ex-coach Rennae Stubbs took to X to praise Murphy’s humility.

“After an absolute heartbreaking loss, this is what i call a masterclass in humility and class. I hope the Brewers win the WS with this man as manager.”
