Rafael Nadal’s sister Maribel recently went on a trip to Salzburg, Austria. She documented her vacation by putting up a few photos on her social media account.
Nadal retired from pro tennis last November at the Davis Cup Finals after Spain crashed out of the team event in the quarterfinals. The Spaniard established himself as one of the greatest players of all time throughout his 23-year-long career, winning 22 Major titles and achieving countless accolades.
Rafael Nadal’s younger sister, Maria Isabel ‘Maribel,’ was incredibly supportive of the 38-year-old during the last few weeks of his tennis career, as evidenced by her Instagram activity from last year. The 35-year-old has since let her hair down; earlier on Thursday (January 2), she brought in the new year by traveling to Salzburg with her group of friends.
Maribel seemingly enjoyed her excursion to the city, which is known for its heritage sites. She took several pictures of the infrastructure in the day before posing for a photo with her friends by a canal. She later uploaded them on her Instagram stories.
She also treated her followers to a video of herself and an unnamed friend dancing in the snow with an umbrella a few hours later.

Maria Isabel is two years younger than her 22-time Major-winning brother. She has been spotted sporadically in the Spaniard’s players’ box at Grand Slam tournaments on multiple occasions. While she may not always be present during her elder brother’s matches, she makes sure to prop him up on her social media handle.
Maribel reportedly studied Motor and Sports Science at the Institut Nacional d’Educació Física de Catalunya (INEFC) in Barcelona before completing her Master’s degree in Sports Management. A few years later, she started handling Marketing & Sales at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca, Spain.
The 35-year-old is also proficient at racquet sports, going by a video of her playing pickleball that was posted by the Spaniard’s academy’s social media handle two years ago.

“It actually is super fun and I had a very, very good time. It’s the first time I played pickleball. If you’ve played tennis, you’ll recognise some things but the rules are different, the technique is also different. I had so much fun,” Maribel said in the video posted by RNA on X (formerly Twitter).

She displayed some impressive shot-making as she teamed up with pickleball pro-Carlos Perez to take on RNA head coach Tomeu Salva and Taiwanese pickleball pro Pei-Kao.
