This semifinal of the Brisbane International 2025 tournament promised to be interesting. Aryna Sabalenka (WTA 1) and Mirra Andreeva (WTA 16) faced each other for the fourth time in the main series. In 2023 and 2024, the Belarusian gave her young rival no chance on the clay court in Madrid. Then, however, their duel in the quarterfinals of Roland Garros 2024 took place, in which the Russian took advantage of the health problems of the tennis player from Minsk and won a great victory.
At the beginning of the match in Brisbane, Sabalenka found herself in trouble and only brave play allowed her to fend off three break points. Andreeva also tried to take the initiative in the rallies. As a result, the fans watched a match of a high standard. The rallies were usually short, because both players took risks. They interspersed winning strokes with unforced errors.
The 17-year-old Russian really seemed to have an optical advantage in the first games of the match. However, she was not able to document it with a break. At 3-all she had another break point, but at the moment of danger the 26-year-old from Minsk again played her best tennis. She defended herself from losing serve and went to 4:3.

Then, the action on the court changed. Andreeva significantly lowered her level in the eighth game, which resulted in unforced errors. The Russian gave her opponent two break points, and another mistake meant losing her serve. The world’s number one racket was just waiting for this, although her opponent did not intend to give up. In the ninth game, Andreeva had her fifth break point in the set, but she did not use it. In response, Sabalenka finished the set with a score of 6:3 on the third opportunity.
The second set saw no change in the game. Andreyeva had her chances, but she was ineffective. Sabalenka saved her serve in the third and fifth games. However, she ruthlessly used her opportunities. In the fourth game, she tried to break, although the Russian was already leading 30-0. Then she attacked in the final phase of the set and after her opponent’s mistakes, she advanced to 5-2.
Po godzinie i 30 minutach Sabalenka pokonała Andriejewą 6:3, 6:2 i poprawiła bilans gier z tą przeciwniczką na 3-1. W sobotę Białorusinka skończyła 26 piłek i miała 22 niewymuszone błędy. Rosjanka miała 23 winnery i 26 pomyłek. Do tego zmarnowała osiem break pointów, a jej utytułowana rywalka wykorzystała trzy z pięciu szans. Tenisistka z Mińska zdobyła także 71 ze 127 rozegranych punktów.
Dzięki zwycięstwu nad Andriejewą Sabalenka po raz drugi z rzędu zagra w finale turnieju WTA 500 na kortach twardych w Brisbane. W zeszłym roku mistrzostwa pozbawiła ją Kazaszka Jelena Rybakina.
W niedzielnym meczu o tytuł przeciwniczką Sabalenki będzie Polina Kudermetowa (WTA 107), która po udanych kwalifikacjach wygrała pięć pojedynków w głównej drabince. Rosjanka celuje w premierowe trofeum w kobiecym tourze. Triumfatorka zawodów Brisbane International 2025 otrzyma 500 punktów do rankingu WTA oraz czek na sumę 192,4 tys. dolarów.

WTA 500 w Brisbane. dosyć słabo obsadzony ,więc Sabalenka nie miała z kim tam pograć ,już samo to że w finale spotka się z kwalifikantką ze 107 miejsca rankingu mówi wiele
