Earlier in her career, the world No. 56 built up a reputation for hiring and firing coaches in quick succession, working with five mentors in an 18-month span.
Raducanu has now settled down with Nick Cavaday, also hiring a new voice – fitness trainer Yutaka Nakamura – to her team. But Express Sport readers believe she could soon seek a new coach.

Cavaday was one of Raducanu’s childhood coaches, working with the Brit at the Bromley Tennis Centre when she was younger. The pair linked up again at the end of 2023 and he flew out to join her at last year’s Australian Open.
Their player-coach partnership has been going strong ever since. Last September, the 22-year-old said: “Nick is a competent coach but, more importantly, he is a very good person.”
Raducanu has since hired another mentor, confirming that Nakamura would be joining her team as a fitness trainer during the off-season. “Yutaka’s going to be with me a lot next year, pretty much most weeks,” she confirmed.

It was a positive sign for the former US Open champion, who has struggled with physical issues and previously struggled to put together a long-term coaching set-up.

However, tennis fans aren’t convinced that Raducanu’s long-term approach will last, as they are tipping her to get rid of Cavaday in 2025. Asked whether she would make another coaching change this year, 72 per cent of Express Sport readers said yes.
The world No. 56 has previously been ruthless with her coaches. She enjoyed a breakthrough at Wimbledon in 2021 after receiving a main draw wildcard, storming into the second week while ranked outside of the top 300.
But shortly after, she parted ways with her then-coach Nigel Sears. Raducanu then teamed up with another one of her youth mentors, Andrew Richardson, and made tennis history with him by her side, winning the US Open as a qualifier.
Raducanu axed Richardson weeks after her triumph in Flushing Meadows and hired experienced coach Torben Beltz to guide her through her transition to the WTA Tour. He also lasted just a few months on her team.

Raducanu soon teamed up with Sebastian Sachs, but they were forced to split when she shut down her 2023 season to have three surgeries.
For now, the 22-year-old seems more than happy with her team. As well as her strong relationship with Cavaday, Raducanu is enjoying what Nakamura brings to the table.
“I think it’s nice because as a person, I think we’re quite similar in the sense that we’re very focused with our work,” she said of her new fitness trainer. “On the court, it’s not like chitchat and stuff. So I think it’s nice to have someone who’s on the same sort of wavelength as you.”
