Paige Spiranac Announces She’s Dealing With ‘Unsafe’ Situation

Over the last several years, Paige Spiranac has become a force in the world of golf social media.

Spiranac, a former Division I golfer who briefly played professionally, has over four million followers on Instagram, her own page on the subscription-based site Passes, popular accounts on X/Twitter account and YouTube and more. Her evolution as the queen of golf on social media has also helped her land opportunities with Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue and elsewhere.

That doesn’t mean that Spiranac doesn’t deal with occasional problems online though. On Monday afternoon, she tweeted about an issue she’s repeatedly encountered involving online impersonators.

“I really hope platforms start to prioritize getting rid of impersonation accounts. It’s wild how many fake accounts there are of me and how many unsafe situations it has caused me and others. I know it’s a real problem for so many,” Spiranac wrote.

This isn’t the first time Spiranac has spoken up about fake accounts of her on social media.

Back in July, she warned her followers about scammers reaching out claiming to be her.

“Someone sent me this picture that some impersonator sent them. This is honestly so scary! They took a screenshot of a video I did a couple years ago holding a head cover and photoshopped a sign in,” Spiranac wrote. “PSA do not talk to anyone claiming to be me! I’m not on any chat apps. I will only ever respond from my verified social media accounts and my passes account. Please report and block anyone claiming to be me!”

There’s plenty of quality content from the real Paige Spiranac, so we urge internet users to be on the lookout for any fake posts from impostors.

Hopefully, this problem is alleviated for Spiranac down the road. It will never be eliminated completely, but there are definitely steps that websites can take to make operating a fake account harder.
