Serena Williams’ Green Day fandom was on full display over the weekend when the tennis legend was scene rocking out in the circle pit during the band’s show in Los Angeles. Fan-shot footage shows Williams and a friend joyfully running around with fellow fans in a circle pit that formed on the floor of SoFi Stadium.
After the show, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong shared a post on Instagram, writing “Triumphant show Los Angeles!!! We gave it all! And so did you. Eternally grateful.” The post had hundreds of comments, including one from Williams that says “Love you Billie!!!!!!”
This is not the first time Williams has showed off her Green Day fandom. The former tennis pro has posted about the band on her social media channels, and Armstrong divulged to Jimmy Kimmel years ago that she’s a super fan.
Green Day have been on their “Saviors” tour all summer and are wrapping it up with a handful of dates along the west coast. Watch Williams rock out and see Green Day’s remaining tour dates below.
