The 2021 US Open champion parted ways with her fifth coach in two years in June when she ended her relationship with Sebastian Sachs and has yet to confirm a new coach. In an interview with the BBC, Emma Raducanu explained why she is no longer working with coaches.
– In some cases they couldn’t keep up with the questions I was asking and maybe that’s why it ended, she stressed.
“It’s something I’ve always done. I’m constantly provoking and questioning coaches and challenging their thinking. I’m not someone you can just tell them what to do and I’ll do it. I have to understand why and then I’ll do it,” she added.

After undergoing surgery on both wrists and ankles in May, Raducanu is hoping to return to competition before the start of the new season.
“I’ll probably come back with a lower ranking, but I’m really looking forward to a fresh start, a reset. I still have new goals and new things I want to achieve. But I’ve got about 15 years left in my career, so there’s no rush,” she said.
For now, the highlight of Raducan’s career is 2021, when she triumphed at the US Open, becoming the first British woman to win a Grand Slam singles title since Virginia Wade triumphed at Wimbledon in 1977.
