Emma Raducanu has announced via social media that she will not be taking part in the WTA 250 tournament in Hong Kong. The Briton is still hoping to play in the Billie Jean King Cup.

Emma Raducanu is currently struggling with a foot injury, which has kept her out of action since she retired in the quarterfinals of a WTA 500 tournament in Seoul on September 21.
Since then, the Briton has missed a total of four tournaments she was entered for, including a planned appearance at the WTA 250 event in Hong Kong .
Raducanu was hoping for a successful run in Asia, especially because of her Chinese roots. Her place in Hong Kong will be taken by American Sofia Kenin, the 2020 Australian Open Grand Slam winner who is also trying to get back into form.
“I’m sad to say I won’t be able to play in Hong Kong next week. Although my foot is improving, I need a little more time before I’m ready to play. I hope I can come back and play in that tournament in the future! In the meantime, I’m doing everything I can to be ready for the Billie Jean King Cup,” the British player said in a post on the X platform.
The tennis player is doing everything she can to play in the BJKC finals this season. However, Raducan’s difficulties in 2024 are very noticeable, and the breaks in play caused by injuries are fueling the critics she will want to silence next year.
