– I’m counting on a good start to the competition and I plan to play in more tournaments than last season – said Novak Djokovic about his plans for the new season. The Serb also hopes to benefit a lot from working with Andy Murray.

Last season was the weakest for Novak Djokovic in many years. The Serb played only 45 matches, did not win a single Grand Slam title, and the only tournament he won was the Paris Games, where he won the coveted Olympic gold.
– It was an interesting year, in which my main goal was to win an Olympic gold medal, and I achieved that – he said during a press conference in Brisbane. – After knee surgery, I played in the Wimbledon final, which was a surprise for me. In general, the whole period from Roland Garros to Wimbledon was great for me.
Djokovic is hoping to improve his results in 2025. This is one of the reasons he hired Andy Murray as his coach . “He was one of my biggest rivals and now we’re on the same side of the net. It’s a bit strange to share all my observations and secrets about how I feel on the court with him. But I’m very happy and grateful that he agreed to work with me,” he said of the Briton.

Murray and Djokovic have a training camp behind them, but the Briton will not be in Brisbane, where the Serb will start the 2025 season. “We’ve had a great ten days together. I think he brings a fresh perspective to my game and I think I’ll take advantage of that. He was in the competition not so long ago, so he knows the strengths and weaknesses of all the players,” added the 37-year-old from Belgrade.
Asked about his plans for 2025, Djokovic said: “Last season I had more defeats and falls than in previous ones. I’m counting on a good start to the competition and I plan to play in more tournaments than last season. I hope that this will increase my level and as a result I will be able to win a few more tournaments and move up in the ranking.”
Djokovic will play his first match of the new season on Monday when he teams up with Nick Kyrgios in the doubles. The Serb’s inaugural singles appearance will be on Tuesday against Rinky Hijikata .
