Andy Murray is another tennis great who is approaching the end of his career. Let us recall that the Scot is set to hang up his racket after the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, so as early as August of this year.
The 37-year-old was very much counting on saying goodbye to the fans at the Wimbledon Grand Slam , which is being held in Great Britain. We are talking about an event where he was unrivaled in 2013 and 2016.
Ultimately, health problems forced Murray to withdraw from singles competition. However, he will be able to say goodbye to both the London grass and the fans by being listed in the doubles and mixed doubles competitions.

Murray started in the doubles with his brother. However, the pair of Andy and Jamie, who received a wild card, had to admit superiority to the Australians Rinky Hijikata and John Peers 6:7(6), 4:6 in the first round. After this match, the 37-year-old was given a dignified farewell.
It now turns out that the match, which took place on Thursday, July 4, was his last in the capital of Great Britain. This is the result of Murray’s mixed doubles partner Emma Raducanu withdrawing from the match due to problems with her right wrist.
– Unfortunately, I woke up today with pain in my right wrist, which is why I decided to withdraw from the mixed doubles tournament. I’m disappointed, I really wanted to play with Andy, but I have to look after myself – said the Briton, who has already reached the fourth round of the singles competition.
According to the rules, the legendary Scot can no longer change his partner, so his match was declared a walkover. Murray’s Wimbledon adventure officially ended.
