Celebrities at Olympics gymnastics team finals: Serena Williams, Jason Kelce headline list of stars to watch USA win gold

Few events at the 2024 Olympics come with more fanfare than the women’s gymnastics all-around finals.

Before the world’s best gymnasts take the floor for the individual all-around final Thursday, all eyes were on Team USA’s attempt to wrestle back the gold medal in the team final Tuesday. Some of those eyes happened to belong to big-time celebrities.

All-time great athletes, actors, musicians and more watched Simone Biles and Suni Lee lead the U.S. to gold, with American stars showing out in France. It was a commanding win for Team USA, which finished with a final score of 171.296, easily surpassing Italy’s 165.494.

Here’s a look at which celebrities were in the building for the gold-medal winning performance by Biles and her teammates.

The following individuals were on hand to watch the women’s gymnastics team finals in Paris:

Savannah Guthrie, NBC host

Jason Kelce, former NFL All-Pro

Nicole Kidman, actress

Hoda Kotb, NBC host

Michael Phelps, swimming legend

Jonathan Owens, NFL player

Natalie Portman, actress

Keith Urban, country singer

Serena Williams, tennis legend

A’ja Wilson, WNBA star

The prospect of seeing Biles and Team USA win gold in a redemption story unsurprisingly drew some big names to Bercy Arena in Paris.

It’s no surprise to see Bears safety Jonathan Owens on hand, as he’s married to Biles. The crowd also included another NFL star, as former Eagles center Jason Kelce arrived wearing a shirt with USA rugby star Ilona Maher’s face on it.

Serena Williams and Michael Phelps, legends of their own sports, both cheered on Team USA as well. Williams was part of the opening ceremony Friday, while Phelps is in Paris to help out with NBC’s swimming coverage.

One of the biggest names in women’s basketball was also on hand. WNBA MVP front-runner A’ja Wilson was in the building and live-tweeted her excitement Tuesday, calling Team USA “goated & golden.”

Actress Natalie Portman also was on hand at Bercy Arena rooting on Team USA, as were country singer Keith Urban and his wife, actress Nicole Kidman.

NBC hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie were also in the stands for the team final. Kotb and Guthrie are both in Paris to cover the Olympics, but they were just fans Tuesday as Kotb wore an American flag sweater to the arena.

It wouldn’t be shocking to see many celebrities to return for the women’s individual all-around final Thursday. A U.S. gymnast has won the women’s all-around finals in each of the last four Olympics, and that streak could very well stay alive in Paris.
