Serena Williams and her daughters were denied entry to a rooftop restaurant at a luxury hotel in Paris. Williams, who served as a torch bearer at the Olympics, expressed her frustration on social media, sparking discussions about the treatment of high-profile athletes and inclusivity in luxury venues.

Serena Williams and her daughters were denied entry to a rooftop restaurant at a luxury hotel in Paris. The retired tennis champion took to social media on Monday, August 5, to express her frustration. Serena, who recently served as a torch bearer at the Olympics’ opening ceremony, shared her experience on X (formerly Twitter), stating: “Yikes @peninsulaparis I’ve been denied access to the rooftop to eat in an empty restaurant of nicer places … but never with my kids.” She added, “Always a first,” with a hashtag referencing the Olympics.

Williams arrived in Paris in late July to participate in the Olympic opening ceremony, where she carried the torch. The incident has garnered significant attention, sparking discussions on social media about the treatment of high-profile athletes and their families. Serena Williams, a winner of four Olympic gold medals, is widely respected in the sports world, making the incident particularly noteworthy.

The hotel has not yet responded to Williams’ post. The situation has raised questions about the inclusivity and accessibility of luxury venues, even for globally recognized figures like Williams. Social media users have expressed mixed reactions, with some supporting Williams and others questioning the circumstances.
