Martha Stewart Reunites Lewis Hamilton With ‘Favorite’ Girl Serena Williams During 7x Champ’s Paris Olympics Vacation
Lewis Hamilton And Serena Williams: The Ultimate Power Duo In Sports—Who’s Your Favorite And Why?
The 2024 Paris Olympics has given rise to the wildest sport x Hollywood crossover. As if Snoop Dogg being the event’s explosive headliner for NBC wasn’t enough, his best friend Martha Stewart too joined in the fun. While their infectious camaraderie won the hearts of fans worldwide, it also brought another set of best friends in F1’s Lewis Hamilton and Tennis Legend Serena Williams together after a long time. Let’s dive into the events leading up to this.

On Saturday in Paris, Martha Stewart rang in her 83rd birthday at the Olympics dressage event. Accompanied by the omnipresent Snoop Dogg, the duo was decked in the full equestrian kit to watch the proceedings. The next day, Hamilton and Williams also graced the games. While the 7-time F1 champion supported BFF Miles Chamley-Watson during his foil fencing event, the 23-time Grand Slam winner was in attendance for the Men’s Tennis final at the Roland Garros stadium.
The day didn’t end well for Hamilton as he was left consoling Chamley-Watson after the USA’s loss in the semifinal. Contrastingly, Williams, who the Briton refers to as his ‘favorite’ sportsperson, was just happy to witness the battle between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz. While we are unsure if a reunion was a part of their itinerary in Paris, Martha Stewart made it happen, anyway. The American entrepreneur shot a special NBC segment with Snoop and American sportscaster, Mike Tirico. After wrapping that up, she went for drinks with Hamilton and Williams. 3-time Olympic gold medal-winning snowboarder Shaun White, who accompanied Hamilton for Chamley-Watson’s event during the day, also joined them.

The heartbroken Chamley-Watson took to the comments section to share a ‘❤️’ for this surreal crossover. Even if Stewart didn’t initiate this, the F1-Tennis pair would’ve met anyway. The two champs have known each other for a long time. Hamilton’s historic British GP victory a few weeks ago also drew a super-enthusiastic “love you bro” from Williams, naming him “the best ever”. But you might be wondering how these two sporting greats became such great friends.
The tale of Lewis Hamilton and Serena Williams’ picture-perfect friendship
Hamilton & Williams have known each other since the early days of their respective careers. They often leaned on each other during tough times and celebrated wildly in times of success. At a certain point, the Tennis star didn’t even care about causing controversy when she declared how her BFF should’ve had 9 titles already. This came in the aftermath of Mercedes boss Toto Wolff commenting on the 7-time champion controversially losing his 8th title to Max Verstappen in 2021.

In 2016, Hamilton shared how they bonded so quickly. “We kind of come from similar backgrounds and have similar relationships with our parents, with the father figure being the lead. Growing up watching her career, I’m absolutely inspired by her and still today by her drive. She’s the greatest athlete of our generation,” he confidently said. Even when Williams was the subject of racial abuse in 2017, he took a firm stand for her. Calling her a “powerful, independent, black woman”, he backed her response to Ilie Nastase, who made the ill comments.
Surprisingly, rumors of them dating had also emerged before her eventual marriage to Alexis Ohanian in 2017. But those were as temporary as most other dating rumors. Watching them together again at the Paris Olympics is a delight. As fans, we can only hope they soon collaborate for something or become co-owners of a sports team, overcoming their failed Chelsea bid in 2022.
