‘Still Hurts’ – Serena Williams’ Husband Alexis Ohanian Can’t Get Over Best Friend’s Demise in a Sad Revelation on Life
Is it ever possible to fully move on from losing a best friend? Alexis Ohanian’s story says otherwise.
Time heals the sorrows of your life, it is often said. However, this hasn’t worked in the case of Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian. Back in 2022, a personal tragedy struck the Reddit co-founder as he announced the shocking death of his childhood friend, Adam Solomon. The two had known each other since the 1st Grade and went on to become more like brothers than friends. Ohanian has been quite vocal about his close bond with Adam and how his loss affected him. Two years after his passing away, the saddening loss continues to hurt the 41-year-old.

Hours ago, Ohanian took to his official Instagram handle to remember his late friend who passed away two years back while exercising at a gym. The Reddit co-founder shared his friend’s picture and penned an emotional note for him that read, “My childhood friends and I came together for something we call Strength & Honor to honor our late friend, Adam. It’ll be almost 2 years now since we got the call and it still hurts. Losing my mom as early as I did gave me preparation for living with Grief, but it still sucks.”

For those unknown, Ohanian’s mother, Anke was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an untreatable brain tumor, in 2005. That came after Ohanian had just co-founded Reddit. Subsequently, she passed away in 2008 at the age of 54. While Ohanian mourned the loss of his childhood friend, he remembered his late mother who passed away young.

Further, this is not the first time Ohanian has penned down a tribute for Adam after he passed away shockingly. Days after Adam’s death, Ohanian opened up about the personal tragedy that had struck him and how difficult he found it to cope with it.
Alexis Ohanian: ‘Buried one of my brothers’
Back in his school days, Ohanian had a close group of friends, with whom he shared a special relationship. Among them was Adam, and their bond was so close that they were more like brothers than friends. However, on that fateful day, Adam was at the gym when he passed away shockingly and left Ohanian in tears.

Later, the Reddit co-founder shared his grief with his fans on social media, saying, “I buried one of my brothers this weekend, Adam Solomon. He was the easy-going soul of my very best friends, guys I’ve known since 1st grade, who to this day are like brothers to me. He got me into lifting a decade ago. He was at the gym, doing what he loved, when he died.”
Adam certainly left a huge void in Ohanian’s life. The latter lost his childhood friend and brother and that loss still haunts Ohanian, two years after that tragedy.
