Serena Williams holds the record for the most WTA matches won on hard courts, while her sister Venus Williams is second on the list.

 

Three of the women who feature are still active players and all seven have competed this century — when hard-court became the most prominent surface in tennis.

 

Five players have won 400 or more hard-court matches on the WTA Tour and just two have reached the 500 milestone.

 

Here, we look at the seven players with the most hard-court match wins in women’s tennis in the Open Era.

 

7. Svetlana Kuznetsova – 384

Svetlana Kuznetsova amassed 384 victories from the 593 matches she contested on hard courts and won 14 tournaments on the surface.

 

Of the Russian’s hard-court match wins, 72 were at Grand Slam events, with 37 coming at the Australian Open and 35 at the US Open.

 

6. Victoria Azarenka – 392

Victoria Azarenka has won 392 of the 541 matches she played on hard courts in her career to date and has collected 20 titles on the surface.

The Belarusian has earned 96 of her hard-court triumphs at majors: 50 at the Australian Open and 46 at the US Open.

5. Agnieszka Radwanska – 400

Agnieszka Radwanska compiled 400 victories from her 575 hard-court matches and secured 17 titles on the surface.

 

The Pole won 59 matches on hard courts at Grand Slam events, with 35 coming at the Australian Open and 24 at the US Open.

 

4. Caroline Wozniacki – 442

Caroline Wozniacki has won 442 of the 625 matches she has contested on hard courts, while she has claimed 24 WTA titles on the surface.

 

Of the Dane’s victories on hard courts, 78 have been at major tournaments: 41 at the US Open and 37 at the Australian Open.

 

3. Lindsay Davenport – 475

Lindsay Davenport earned 475 victories from the 590 matches she played on hard courts and won 33 tournaments on the surface.

 

The American amassed 118 of her hard-court wins at Grand Slams, with 62 coming at the US Open and 56 at the Australian Open.

 

2. Venus Williams – 500

Venus Williams has won 500 of the 669 hard-court matches she has contested in her career and has collected 31 singles titles on the surface.

 

Of the American’s hard-court victories, 133 have come at majors: 79 at the US Open and 54 at the Australian Open.

 

1. Serena Williams – 541

Serena Williams won 541 of the 636 matches she played on hard courts and also won a record 48 WTA titles on the surface.

 

The American earned 200 of her hard-court match victories at Grand Slams, with 108 coming at the US Open and 92 at the Australian Open.
